After watching the State of the Union address by President Joe Biden, I couldn’t help but notice that Vice President Kamala Harris would pop up every so often smiling and clapping and she reminded me of well, if you put it as a tune of Pop Goes the Weasel, he looks like a jack-in-the-box. Backing a president that has very low ratings for even his Democratic Party. We’ve only got less than two years before we can get rid of both of them.

I hear a lot of people complaining about Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx and Lori Lightfoot and various other Democrats that are running Chicago into the ground. But there’s one name that you never hear anymore, but you used to hear everyday, Toni Preckwinkle. She’s the Democratic committeewoman. She’s the one to put all these people into office and somehow she just manages to stay out of the press. Seriously, when was the last time you heard the name Toni Preckwinkle in the news? She’s responsible for all of these clowns.

I would never say we should defund the police. But what I would say is we perhaps should put more money into overhead lights, because if it wasn’t for the lights in the Tyre Nichols case, who lost his life because of the police beating in Memphis, there would not have been a quick 20-day decision to fire the police officers involved. Even though some of the cops had their cameras on, the headlights above captured more detail. The bottom line is Congress needs to pass the bill for police reform on the national level.

A commenter compares Hunter Biden using the Biden name for profit with the Trump children using the Trump name. Slight difference. The Biden family business is politics where people give you money (donations, contributions) for favorable political outcomes. The Trump children work for the Trump organization that actual builds and develops buildings and properties. In other words, merit based not name based.

Thank you, Sen. Hastings, for securing a grant for Together We Cope as it struggles to recover from its November fire. Considering the number of people this site services and the extremely limited resources available in the immediate area, it should have come sooner, but better late than never. Not to sound ungrateful, but $250,000 is pocket change from Springfield and additional moneys to increase and expand this growing need in the area would help cover rising costs and the increasing number of people in need.
