Elmhurst
Burglary
Responding to a call of broken glass, at 5:16 a.m. Jan. 17 an officer located multiple vehicles on the 100 block of West Third Street with broken windows. A window in a nearby building was also damaged.
Cannabis
Naqi Shaheed-Owens, 20, of the 3400 block of Wilcox Avenue, Bellwood, was cited for possession of cannabis (by a driver) at 10:57 p.m. Jan. 8.
Victor Rodriguez, 24, of the 2600 block of South Avers Avenue, Chicago, was cited for speeding and possession of adult use cannabis in a motor vehicle at 7:36 a.m. Jan. 14.
Erik Lehmann, 29, of the 10500 block of West Grand Avenue, Melrose Park, was charged with driving without a valid driver’s license, unlawful possession of cannabis by a driver and improperly tinted windows at 10:21 p.m. Jan. 14.
Gregory Carter, 27, of the 1900 block of West Home Avenue, Berwyn, was cited for driving with suspended registration (license plates), unlawful possession of cannabis by a driver, transport of open alcohol by a driver and improperly tinted windows at 7:27 p.m. Jan. 15.
Deceptive practice
Two checks sent to vendors by Glenrock Co., 200 W. Wrightwood Ave., were intercepted, altered and cashed between Dec. 13 and Dec. 16.
Drugs
Scott Viverito, 32, of the 5000 block of Briartree Lane, Burbank, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, driving with a suspended driver’s license, driving with expired license plates and driving without insurance at 2:14 a.m. Jan. 14.
DUI
Jakub Noufal, 35, of the 3200 block of North Natchez Avenue, Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence, possession of cannabis by a driver and improper lane use at 1:26 a.m. Jan. 13.
Jose Julian Delcid-Mendez, 20, of the 300 block of North Mason Avenue, Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence, two counts of endangering the life of a child, driving without a valid driver’s license, driving without insurance and improper lane use at 12:58 a.m. Jan. 14.
Jose Castillo Ontiveros, 28, of the 20W500 block of Grove Street, Itasca, was charged with driving under the influence, aggravated driving under the influence, driving without insurance, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident at 12:40 a.m. Jan. 17.
Identity theft
An unknown suspect used a resident’s information to open a checking account with Bank of America. As reported Jan. 16, no money was taken out and the account was closed.

A package was reported stolen from a vestibule of Elm Creek Apartments, 1 Elm Creek Drive, on the afternoon of Dec. 30.
A purse was reported stolen from an unlocked semi-truck being serviced at Super Ego Trucking, 677 N. Larch Ave., between 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. Jan. 13.
Four offenders, all 18- to 30-years old, attempted to steal liquor from a locked case in Jewel-Osco, 944 S. York St., at 7:21 p.m. Jan. 15. They were unsuccessful but took two bottles of liquor from an open shelf before fleeing.
A tall Black man, 30- to 40-years old, reportedly took various grocery items from Jewel-Osco, 153 E. Schiller St., at 10:47 p.m. Jan. 13, leaving the area in a white box truck.
Charles Ryan, 51, of the 11400 block of South Oakley Avenue, Chicago, was charged with retail theft from Jewel-Osco, 944 S. York St., at 5:56 p.m. Jan. 16.
In the same incident, Kelvin Greenfield, 56, of the 1600 block of South Central Park Avenue, Chicago, was charged with retail theft and also with unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
Two young Black women reportedly grabbed two bottles of expensive perfume and fled from Walgreens, 160 N. Robert Palmer Dr., at 10:14 a.m. Jan. 18 after asking that the perfume case be unlocked.
A catalytic converter was reported taken from a vehicle in the lot of Jewel-Osco, 153 E. Schiller St., between 8 a.m. and 5:40 p.m. Jan. 17.
An unknown offender reportedly underpaid for a glass smoking pipe from Old Havana Cigars, 189 E. Butterfield Rd., at 3:19 p.m. Jan. 18 before driving away in a black four-door compact car.
Theft by deception
A suspect paid Greenwood Fence, 850 N. Addison Ave., for a large order using fraudulently obtained credit cards and forged cashier’s checks on Jan. 11.
A resident told police on Jan. 13 that she received an email about a charge for a subscription. She called the customer service number provided and was told to purchase gift cards in order to get a refund, which she did. Police are investigating.
Traffic
Noe Fabian-Lopez, 36, of the 1000 block of Ferrari Drive, Bensenville, was cited for failing to give information after striking a motor vehicle and failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident at 3:32 p.m. Jan. 9.
Elcee Thomas, 46, of the 2000 block of North Kildare Avenue, Chicago, was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license, driving with suspended registration, improperly tinted windows and driving without insurance at 3:45 p.m. Jan. 14.
Christopher Haynes, 34, of the 5500 block of West Monroe Street, Chicago, was cited for transport of open alcohol at 3:10 a.m. Jan. 16.
Fredrick Weaver, 50, of the 4400 block of West Cortez Street, Chicago, was charged with speeding and driving with a revoked driver’s license at 2:38 p.m. Jan. 17.
Jordan Vera, 20, of the 600 block of Wolf Road, Hillside, was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license, driving with suspended registration and driving without insurance at 9:22 p.m. Jan. 17.
