Joe Biden’s response to the classified documents being at that think tank was amazing. He said he didn’t know they were there? Classified documents stored in an office unprotected above a steakhouse. How come there’s no midnight raids? How come he isn’t being led away in handcuffs? We are on the verge of communism here. And I want you Democrats to know that.
Tom, Burbank
While Democrats revel in their fantasy, one-sided truth about Jan. 6, and speculation about the national security risk of classified documents seized in a raid on Donald Trump’s home guarded by the Secret Service, the reaction to documents held by former President Biden in at least two unsecure locations is not news. Do Democrats have any idea what the word transparency means? Certainly, their activists don’t believe democracy has anything to do with allowing the opposition to have a voice.

Gov. Pritzker has signed the AR-15 rifle sales ban into law, at least temporarily. Has he protected the citizens of Illinois? No, he hasn’t. He has succeeded in pulling off a lame publicity stunt. There are 10,000 of these very rifles in the hands of law-abiding citizens in Illinois alone. Almost half this state’s county sheriffs don’t support it because it’s not going to stop anything and is bogus politics as usual. Our governor and the mayor of Chicago don’t go anywhere without armed guards carrying these same weapons. But that’s OK, because they’re special.

Ted Slowik writes that sheriffs who refuse to enforce the law banning assault weapons are unfit for public office. Does that mean that Gov. Pritzker or Mayor Lori Lightfoot are unfit for public office since they regularly ignore laws too, such as the federal immigration laws? It’s just another example of the hypocrisy by both parties which has become all too common in this country.

I’ve read in the paper about Gov. J.B. Pritzker turning around and saying that he’s going to make everybody not pay for college. Can you ask big boy there, who is going to pay for the upkeep of the colleges, who’s going to pay for the teachers, for the maintenance men, for everybody that takes care of these colleges? Pritzker is just trying to sound so great. He’s a liar. I’m telling you people, don’t believe a word he is saying, there ain’t no way he is going to allow people to go to college for free.

The city of Chicago is in a bad way. Qualified people back off running for mayor because it’s a hopeless job. Crime and corruption will not stop. How can a city that doesn’t work raise the taxes? Chicago has a big problem, Mayor Lori Lightfoot and her selected officials.

Does Jack of Oak Forest actually think that the state government can legislate good parenting? Instead, how about the police enforcing the curfew? Why are there teenagers and children out in the streets late at night?

I noticed on Speak Out, most of the comments are on the president of the United States and Congress. Your readers and commentators here need to look and follow local communities as well. Homer Glen residents need to watch the Homer Glen village meetings on the village website. The meetings are a sad commentary on how this village is run. Watch and ask yourself if this is how your village should be run. I live here and hope one day Homer Glen will be annexed by Lemont or New Lenox. Watch.

So his attorneys claim that he cannot meaningfully participate is own defense at this time. We all know what that means. We, the taxpayers, won’t ever see Lawrence Wyllie on trial or in jail. He had no problem leaving the taxpayers holding the bag and he reaped millions in pensions and other things. Judge Elaine Bucklo continued it to April 13 and we all know when that day rolls around his attorneys will claim the same thing. Set a trial date and proceed without him. How long is this going to go on, Judge Bucklo?

Being a dinosaur in today’s technology world, I received a request to do a Zoom interview. I contacted Green Hills Library in Palos Hills. They made calls to the library in La Grange and they set up a date, time and the laptop. Green Hills set up my Gmail, which was forward to the La Grange Library. La Grange provided the staff to set up the link and a private room for me for the interview and with all the help that I would need. I would like to thank the entire staff at Green Hills Library and La Grange Library for their extraordinary service.

I read the comments about how Biden is responsible for the inflation and high costs, which is really not entirely true. The major reason is big business. They, despite all the Trump tax reductions, continue to raise prices on everything. Look at your insurance bills, your grocery bills, dining out costs, heating bills, etc. Their profit margins keep growing. If costs are going up, logic would indicate profits should go down. Things don’t have to be this high, simply corporate greed.

So this reprehensible domestic terrorist in New Mexico, who lost an election by a landslide but refused to accept results and said the election was rigged, went and shot at four Democrat’s homes, even through the bedroom of a 10-year-old girl. Who does this sound like he’s emulating? Come on MAGA people, get your heads out of the sand and wake up to the violence this man has perpetrated and has been developing over these last five, six years, ever since Donald Trump got in office and shot off his big mouth about denying results of elections.
