ILLEGAL GUN: Omar R. Abdennabi, 28, of Burbank, was arrested and accused of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and illegally transporting alcohol after officers recovered a handgun containing five bullets during a Jan. 4 traffic stop in the 6900 block of 95th Street for no front registration plate, police said.
DUI: Anthoney W. Vuvan, 35, undisclosed street address, Orland Park, was arrested and accused of drunken driving with a blood-alcohol concentration above the legal limit, improper lane use and no insurance Jan. 6 in the 7300 block of Southwest Highway, Worth, police said.
BATTERY: Christina N. Guanajuato, 31, Chicago, was arrested and accused of battery Jan. 7 in the 10500 block of Harlem Avenue after punching another person in the face, police said.
ILLEGAL GUN: Adel M. Atef, 40, 9300 block of Meadowview Drive, Orland Hills, was arrested and accused of being an armed habitual criminal and illegally possessing a controlled substance after officers discovered he had a loaded handgun, 36 black market amphetamine pills and $3,534 during a Jan. 10 traffic stop in the 100 block of Harlem Avenue, Bridgeview for driving 80 mph in a 40 mph zone, police said.

Homer Glen
TRAILER THEFT: A 20-foot trailer was reported stolen Dec. 30 from Shorewood Home & Auto, 13639 159th St.
THIEF THWARTED: Will County Sheriff’s Police say a would-be thief recently found himself mired in mud after managing to hook up a camper-trailer at a Homer Glen storage facility. Surveillance cameras at Parker Self Storage, 15935 S. Parker Road, recorded the potential purloiner hooking his pickup truck to the recreational vehicle on Jan. 2. But the RV bogged down during the attempted exit through a drainage area. Unable to extricate the axle-deep mobile home from the muck, the miscreant unhooked his truck and fled.
Homewood
ILLEGAL GUN: Michael Hill, 50, 1400 block of 183rd Street, Homewood, was arrested and accused of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon Jan. 12 in that block after officers recovered an undisclosed handgun, police said. Hill, a convicted felon, also had no government-issued firearms permits, police said.
Lockport
BUSINESS SHOT: The front windows of a store in the 14300 block of Archer Avenue in unincorporated Lockport were hit by two of 15 shots fired Dec. 30.
Mokena
CAR BURGLARY: A vehicle was reported broken into and undisclosed items stolen Jan. 6 at the Oaks Recreation and Fitness Center.
Orland Park
RETAIL THEFT: Jonathan E. Green, 30, 400 block of Lincoln Highway, Chicago Heights, was charged with felony retail theft due to his “extensive criminal history” and misdemeanor trespassing, and also served with a Cook County no-bond, bond-forfeiture warrant for retail theft Dec. 27 at Macy’s, 1 Orland Square Drive, police said. Green had attracted store employees’ attention by placing merchandise of an undisclosed value into a “colorful duffel bag” while wearing stolen shoes, police said.
GUN ARREST: John L. Humphrey III, 28, 100 block of North Avenue, Lockport, was charged with being an armed habitual criminal Dec. 30 after an officer observed him with a 9 mm handgun in a parked car he had backed into a parking space in an Orland Square Mall parking lot, police said. The Illinois Department of Corrections resumed custody of Humphrey, who had been on parole on a 10-year sentence for armed-robbery, according to IDOC online records. He pleaded guilty to the Class X felony in 2017, according to Will County Circuit Court online records.
PALOS HEIGHTS
ILLEGAL GUN: Kiwan Phillips, 26, 14000 block of Torrence Avenue, Burnham, was arrested and accused of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon after officers recovered an undisclosed gun during a Dec. 30 traffic stop in the 6400 block of West College Drive, police said.
Palos Hills
BURGLARY CHARGES: Darius D. Scott, 32, 1600 block of State Street, Calumet City, has been charged with burglarizing three Palos-area businesses, according to police and the Cook County state’s attorney’s office. Palos Park police apprehended Scott on Dec. 30 for the alleged break-ins, which occurred Aug. 18 at a phone repair store in the 7200 block of 103rd Street and a pawnshop in the 11200 block of Southwest Highway in Palos Heights, and at a phone repair store in the 13000 block of LaGrange Road in Palos Park, police said. Scott is also charged with retail theft in connection with the pawnshop break-in. He is scheduled to appear in Cook County Court in Bridgeview Jan. 27 and was being held without bond Tuesday in Cook County Jail, according to online records.
BUSINESS BURGLARY: Cartons of cigarettes and cash were reported taken in a Jan. 6 burglary of a gas station in the 7700 block of 111th Street, Palos Hills. Surveillance apparatus shows three men gained entry by breaking a glass door with a bundle of firewood.
Park Forest
DUI: Frederick Jones, 38, 3700 block of Crescent Drive, Steger, was charged with aggravated drunken driving/revoked license and aggravated drunken driving/third arrest in connection with his Jan. 3 arrest in the 200 block of Monee Road, according to Will County Circuit Court records online.
DOMESTIC BATTERY: Deangelo M. Sanders, 23, 300 block of Miami Street, Park Forest, was arrested and accused of domestic battery Jan. 3 in that block, police said.
ILLEGAL GUNS: Odegion H. Hill, 18, Chicago, was charged with two counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and one count of possessing a stolen motor vehicle after an officer found him asleep with two handguns Jan. 14 downtown in a vehicle stolen from Chicago, police said. One handgun, tucked between Hill’s seat and the center console, had been converted to automatically fire all of the rounds in the attached drum style magazine, which contained 40 bullets, police said. The second handgun, containing an extended magazine, was on the passenger seat, police said. Hill had neither a Firearm Owner’s Identification Card nor a concealed carry license, police said. He is scheduled to appear in Cook County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bond, according to online records.
