Naperville police issued an alert Wednesday about a suspicious man who tried to speak with two girls walking in the Naperville Historic District Tuesday afternoon and offered to take one of them to a location where she liked to hang out.
The incident occurred about 4 p.m. in the area of School and Ellsworth streets when the adult man approached the two middle school-aged girls and began asking them a series of personal questions, the police report said. At one point, he invited one of them to accompany him to a place she’d liked to go.
“The girls refused to share information with him, at which point he stopped walking with them and walked westbound towards Washington Street,” the report said.
The man is described as being white with a thin build and brown hair. He was 5-foot-10 to 6 feet tall and was wearing a dark T-shirt and jeans.
Anyone with information about the suspect or incident is asked to call the police department at 630-420-6666 and ask for the investigations division.
