Before dawn arrived on the second day of the year, a Northfield couple got another reason to celebrate new beginnings.

Casey Johnathan Nabor was born at 4:49 a.m. Jan. 2 at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge to mom Autumn Raines and dad Jason Nabor.

He weighed in at 7 pounds, 11 ounces, and was 20 inches long.

The new arrival joins an elder sibling named Christian.
