I was recently inconvenienced with a 5-hour Southwest delay on my return flight to Chicago. While waiting, I felt things could certainly be much worse. Donald Trump’s attempt coup to overturn democracy to set up his authoritarian government could have succeeded. Later, boarding my flight back home, I smiled and thought, as a country we survived Trump’s attempted insurrection, survived four years of an incompetent, pretend president and now America is on the rebound, back on track and regaining his greatness once again.

The Grinch who stole Christmas, none other than former President Trump. He did additional trading card ads on TV and it’s all sold out. He made a whopping $4 million. This proved his MAGA followers are still with him.

BJ, Hazel Crest

If the Republican Party wants to revive and return as a political force party, it needs to present a positive plan, agenda and platform with some goals to improve and help America rather than just whining and crying sour grapes like everyone is picking on us. This is the only way they will get former Republicans back and attract old and young Independent voters to the party. This includes, first and foremost, cutting all ties with the biggest loser and anchor pulling the Republican Party down, Donald Trump, and rein in the other radical Republicans.

I cannot believe our elected leaders are allowing our country to turn into a Third World country, our leader apparently has sold his soul to someone higher up and he cannot correct all the mistakes he has made. The American people need to wake up and find out who’s pulling Biden strings.

Suffolk University recently conducted a poll in which they asked voters what they mainly want in a politician. An overwhelming majority of Democratic voters say they wanted someone who would be amenable to compromise. However, a majority of Republican voters said they wanted someone who would remain steadfast in principle and never negotiate. So there you have it. The next time you’re asking yourself why is there so much gridlock in Washington, now you have the answer.

Tom from Garfield Ridge, maybe you should start saving your money so you can be the first passenger on Trump’s space shuttle. Maybe those MAGA people will join you on the Trump shuttle to space, never to return. You may not be able to afford his prices. Trump will be his own dictator on his own space station and you MAGA people won’t have to worry about elections or stealing the election because Trump won’t hold any, plus he will be the judge, jury and executioner.

Rus, I think what Biden said was that if the Russians invaded we would impose massive sanctions, which we did. We also organized the great response from NATO and other countries, and as a result also are adding Sweden and Finland to NATO. We have alone sent more than $32 million in various kinds of aid to Ukraine. Other countries are also sending aid, although the need to up their amounts and materials. Glory to Ukraine.

Hey, this is for George from the South Side. I’d like to say something to you about your Democrats that you love so much. Pritzker is a crook, he’s shown it already. Madigan is a crook, he’s under federal indictment. Burke is a crook, he’s under federal indictment. And so is our mayor, not under federal indictment, but she’s a crook. Let’s see where Burke got all his money. Where Madigan got all his money. Where all of these people got all their money, all these Democrats.

BJ, I agree with you about low shelves at the grocery store. I always have it happen to me in the baking aisle. I have to get down on one knee and stretch to reach things that have slipped backward. Fortunately, I haven’t yet dislocated my shoulder. I also had the automatic door close on me at Jewel-Osco, and a co-worker of mine tripped and fell on one of those rubber mats in the produce department. If the high prices don’t kill me, something else in the store will!

I wish to commend the Daily Southtown and its parent company, the Tribune, and the paper delivery companies for promptly delivering my newspaper everyday, even during the tough weather we have had. Also, they sent me an email link for an online copy each day, in case a delivery problem happened. I thank you all.

Our electrical sub stations are being attacked nationwide. Authorities seem to think it’s just simple vandalism. Remember, right after 9/11, there were many theories on how to completely cripple our country. One was to knockout sub stations. They said it would cripple millions. Wake up. Treat these as terrorist attacks that will continue unless we stop them.

I live on Owen Drive in Eagle Ridge. First off I want to thank the person who saw fit on several occasions to cut the cords on my outdoor inflatable decorations and sever the power cord on one of them. The next time you will be caught because I have installed a camera where you will never see it and you will be recorded. Second, to the person who speeds up and down Owen with your loud muffler at all times during the day and night, you will be caught as well.
