2022 is coming to a close and many are looking forward to ringing in the new year. While some may choose to take the train down to Chicago, the North Shore suburbs have several events and dining options to help celebrate 2023.

Evanston

First Night Evanston | 7 p.m., December 31

Head over to First United Methodist Church, at 516 Church Street, for First Night Evanston’s first in-person event since the initial COVID-19 shutdowns. The event will host blues artist Corky Siegel and the Timezone Jazz Band. General admission is $30 in advance and $35 day-of. Student admission is $15 with a student ID. Masks are required and proof of vaccination may be required at the door. Evanstonopoly, an Evanston-themed Monopoly game, will be on sale for $10. More information is available on Eventbrite.

Island Themed New Year’s Eve at Good to Go | 7 p.m., Dec. 31

Good to Go, at 711 W. Howard Street, will be hosting a special “Island Vibes” New Year’s Eve event. The restaurant will have a photo booth, live DJ, bottle discounts and a free champagne toast at midnight. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased on Eventbrite

. The restaurant will also have a brunch on Dec. 31 as well.

Glencoe

Glencoe Park District’s Itty Bitty New Year | 11 a.m., Dec. 31

Enjoy a balloon drop, dancing and other activities at the Glencoe Park District’s Itty Bitty New Year event. The event, taking place at the Takiff Center, is recommended for ages up to six years old. Advanced registration is required and can be completed on the Park District’s website.

Winnetka

Aboyer’s New Year’s Eve Dinner | Dec. 31 from 5:30 p.m.

Make a reservation at Aboyer, 64 Green Bay Road, where Chef Michael Lachowicz has a three-course dinner all planned out. The dinner costs $135 per person and reservations are required. The menu and reservation instructions can be found on its website.

Pomeroy | Dec. 31 at 5, 7 or 9:30 p.m.

Looking for another New Year’s Eve dining option? Check out Pomeroy in Winnetka. The restaurant, at 844 Spruce Street, has a $150 dinner planned out with food options like mushroom vol-au-vent and Camembert croquette. There are three seating times at 5, 7 and 9:30 p.m. with reservations required. More information is available on its website and reservations can be made on Resy.

Wilmette

Bobby Lewis, Andy Brown and Stewart Miller Jazz Trio | 7 p.m., Dec. 30

Bobby Lewis and Andy Brown will be joined by Stewart Miller for their return to the Wilmette Public Library at its annual New Year’s concert. Lewis and Brown performed at the library on June 10, which drew an overflowing crowd that seeped into the library’s atrium. The concert takes place on Dec. 30 and the library is closed on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.

Wilmette Park District New Year’s Brunch | 10:30 a.m., Jan. 6

Enjoy a catered brunch and live entertainment at the Wilmette Park District’s New Year’s brunch on Jan. 6 at the Millinckrodt Community Center. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased on the Wilmette Park District website.
