Start planning now: Now that the new year is right around the corner, there is good news and bad news to report. On the plus side, Adele is finally performing in Las Vegas. On the down side, 2023 is the year Nostradamus predicts for the start of WWIII. All things considered, it might be wise to hold off on obtaining airline tickets too soon.
Nothing’s changed: The 10th anniversary of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting occurred this Wednesday and every citizen of our nation should hang their head in shame that there still remains no ban on assault weapons all these years later.
Blame the messenger: Many students go to school sick and many lack in basic hygiene. The thing is that nowadays society has gotten to the point where it is hard to talk to anyone about such a matter. You tell a parent that their child is dirty and right away they scream they’re being singled out and discriminated against.
Time to give credit: The American Automobile Association reported Dec. 8 the price of a gallon of gas is now less than it was one year ago. So, all of you right-wing Donald Trump supporters and Republicans and conservatives, can we hear from you about this? Are you going to give Joe Biden the Democrats credit for this reduction in the price of gas at the pump? You were ready to tar and feather them and hang them from the nearest light pole when prices were higher.
Still waiting for bombshell: If anyone actually looked at what Elon Musk released about Hunter Biden, it was the biggest non-news news story of the year.
Fields good, Bears lousy: The headline article of Sunday’s sports section indicated the Bears now have an electric, play-making quarterback and described the explosive emergence of Justin Fields. It detailed Fields’ accomplishments over the past seven games. What the article neglected to say is the Bears lost six of those seven games, and are now three and 10 for the season, with several very difficult games left to play against winning teams. They have a reasonable chance to qualify for the first draft pick with the worst record in the NFL.
