How can this happen?
So the illegitimate socialist puppet trades the merchant of death for a drug-using basketball player, leaving behind a Marine who has been improperly imprisoned for four years. Can’t believe what an incompetent trade this was. By the way, did you see that the illegitimate socialist puppet is also using $92 billion in COVID funds to bail out union pension funds. How can this happen?
Neither practical nor wise
A recent contributor to this column suggests that the term “United States of America” is a misnomer, since “every state has different laws.” What primarily unites us as a nation is our remarkable Constitution which, by the Tenth Amendment, states that “powers not forbidden to the states … are reserved to each state.” Therein lie those pesky differences in state laws, allowed for by our very own Constitution. To do as this contributor wishes would require a significant overhaul to this prized document, an action neither practical nor wise.
Move on to another profession
This is in response to “Enforce the law”: As you drive around Waukegan, you will see and notice in many locations Waukegan police officers parked in the same location — every day, several hours a day, apparently doing nothing — until they get a call for some type of service. Due to the Black Lives Matter movement, I think this is the new normal in police work and service. No negative contact with the public equals no complaints to the police supervisors, and equals the officer keeping his job and collecting a paycheck for simply answering police calls. If you conduct yourself appropriately and professionally, everything will be backed up with the body camera. If you are afraid to do your job, then move on to another profession and let someone else take your place because you are not doing anything to improve the conditions in our city.
Thank you
I read recently the Zion police department conducted a search on Atlantic Avenue in Waukegan that led to several arrests of members of a street gang and the seizure of eight firearms. The actions of members of the Zion police department is commendable, at minimum for their efforts in jailing violent criminals who would otherwise victimize Waukegan residents. I feel the Waukegan City Council should formally recognize Zion police and their chief at a City Council meeting, and acknowledge their excellent law enforcement actions during an obviously dangerous operation. Thank you, Zion PD for your hard work in keeping Waukegan residents safe.
Only goal is to be king
First of all, I’m not a Democrat or a Republican. I’m a centrist. I agree and disagree with both parties. I have voted through my many years both Republican and Democrat. I vote person, not party. Second, I’m not a part of the “woke movement.” I, too, agree that they are way off track and destroying our country, just like Trump and his followers. Yes, his followers, his cult. The guy is a narcissist bully, and anyone supporting this nut job is part of the problem of this hate-filled country. He wants to be a dictator, like our enemy countries that he so loves. His only goal is to be king.
