The following items were taken from area police department reports and news releases. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.

Elmhurst

Burglary

Several unknown suspects set off a burglar alarm as they forced their way into Elmhurst BMW, 500 W. Lake St., at 2:17 a.m. Nov. 23. They broke glass near the service bay but left without taking anything.

A resident in the 400 block of South Sunnyside Avenue reported an unknown offender entered his residence through an unlocked window between Nov. 26 and Nov. 29. Officers found several items in the home rifled through.

Cannabis

Daquan Harris, 22, of the 1000 block of South 11th Avenue, Maywood, was cited for unlawful possession of cannabis at 10:48 a.m. Nov. 26.

In the same incident, Carlos Anaya, 21, of the 800 block of Rowlett Avenue, Melrose Park, was cited for driving with no front license plate and for illegally tinted windows.

Ashlei Mayweather, 20, of the 100 block of West Division Street, Villa Park, was charged with driving with suspended Illinois registration and unlawful possession of cannabis by a driver at 5:16 p.m. Nov. 26.

Sheilly Rodriguez de Jesus, 22, of the 3500 block of West Armitage Avenue, Chicago, was cited for possession of cannabis by a driver and for driving without insurance at 11:25 p.m. Nov. 26.

Disorderly conduct

Sean Marchese, 29, of the 2S500 block of Lloyd Avenue, Lombard, was charged with disorderly conduct at 1:46 a.m. Nov. 27.

Driverless vehicle

Not an autonomous vehicle, but one whose driver stepped out of the vehicle in the parking lot of 7-Eleven, 525 S. Spring Rd. to search for a candy bar dropped on the floor about 2:30 p.m. Nov. 23. The driver mistakenly thought the car was in Park but it rolled forward, knocking the driver down before continuing west across Spring Road where it hit a parked car on the west side of the street. The parked car was reportedly also “driverless.”

Drugs

Steven Foster, 64, of the 1000 block of South York Road, Bensenville, was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance at 5:11 p.m. Nov. 23.

Melvin Sunil, 23, of the 2300 block of Westview Drive, Des Plaines, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia at 12:40 a.m. Nov. 24.

In the same incident, Cyril Mathew, 23, of the 1700 block of West Goldengate Court, Addison, was charged with attempted unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

Identity theft

A resident reported Nov. 1 that an unknown suspect used his information to open a bank account, which was later closed.

A resident reported on Nov. 23 that someone used his information to take money from his bank account.

A resident reported Nov. 24 that someone used her information to file for unemployment benefits.

DUI

Gaby Marquez, 41, of the 300 block of South State Street, Elgin, was charged with driving under the influence, improper lane use, improper window treatment and possession of open alcohol at 3:55 a.m. Nov. 28.

Theft

Someone reportedly stole a small Christmas tree from a front yard in the 100 block of South Linden Avenue between 4 p.m. Nov. 21 and 10 a.m. Nov. 22.

A resident in the 200 block of West Lake Street reported that several items were taken from a secured storage unit between Oct. 22 and Nov. 23. The owner told police she still had both keys to the lock, which was secured.

A resident reported that sometime between Aug. 1 and Nov. 26 a Garmin GPS unit went missing from her vehicle.

A salt spreader was reported taken from a truck in the 900 block of South Route 83 between Nov. 13 and Nov. 26.

A carton of cigarettes was reported stolen from Shell Oil, 301 W. Butterfield Rd., at 6:23 a.m. Nov. 28. The suspect was described as a Black man with a goatee who drove away in an older white sedan.

A tire and rim were reported stolen from a Jeep Gladiator at Larry Roesch Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram, 200 W. Grand Ave., between Nov. 25 and Nov. 28.

A resident told police on Nov. 29 that she had not received her retirement check in the mail and believed someone may have stolen it.

A rear license plate was reported taken from a vehicle in a driveway in the 500 block of West Belden Avenue between 4 p.m. Nov. 25 and 6:45 a.m. Nov. 26.

Traffic

Elizabeth Aguirre, 50, of the 100 block of Williams Drive, Northlake, was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license and speeding at 9:22 a.m. Nov. 25.

Fabian Becerra-Diaz, 23, of the 100 block of North 22nd Avenue, Melrose Park, was charged with driving without a valid driver’s license and operating a motor vehicle while using an electronic communication device at 6:38 p.m. Nov. 25.

Martin Arroyo, 54, of the 2900 block of North Springfield Avenue, Chicago, was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license, driving with suspended registration and driving without insurance at 11:19 p.m. Nov. 25.

Barbara Haynes, 33, of the 2500 block of East 78th Street, Chicago, was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license, driving without insurance, driving without a rear license plate and transporting open alcohol at 12:39 p.m. Nov. 26.

Miguel Flores, 49, of the 10700 block of South Avenue M, Chicago, was charged with driving with a revoked driver’s license and with improper window treatment at 8:34 p.m. Nov. 26.

Blanca Mazariegos, 50, of the 100 block of North 11th Avenue, Melrose Park, was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license, failing to yield to an emergency vehicle and improper lane use at 12:04 a.m. Nov. 27.

Luis Perez Entzin, 18, of the 400 block of West Division Street, Villa Park, was charged with driving without a valid driver’s license and improper window treatment at 4:41 p.m. Nov. 27.

Weapons

Warren Wilson, 28, of the 14400 block of South Union Avenue, Riverdale, was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of cannabis by a driver, improper lighting, failure to signal and failure to wear a seat belt at 12:49 a.m. Nov. 24 after police said a search of his vehicle following a traffic stop turned up a loaded piston under the driver’s seat.
