
Elmhurst police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are investigating the Monday afternoon robbery of the Elmhurst-Wintrust Bank, 115 W. Third St., in which two suspects took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled, eluding police.
Elmhurst officers were called to the bank at approximately 4:41 p.m. Monday (Nov. 28) for the reported robbery. Officers learned that two suspects entered the bank. One gave a note to a teller demanding cash while the other suspect stood lookout. The suspect with the note implied he had a weapon, although no weapon was displayed.

After getting cash, the two suspects fled on foot westbound on Third Street toward Addison Avenue. Officers located evidence at the scene indicating the suspects fled to a nearby alley south of Third Street between Addison and Larch Avenues. The area was searched by officers but the suspects were no longer in the area. The suspects may have left the alley in an unknown vehicle.
Suspect 1 was described as a male, 20-30 years of age, 6-feet tall, of medium build, wearing a blue Nike hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, and black gloves.
Suspect 2 was described as a male, 20-40 years of age, 6-feet tall, of heavy build, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, surgical mask, and black pants.
No injuries were reported in connection with the robbery.
