New Dunkin under construction in Tinley Park

Work is progressing on the new Dunkin’ Donuts under construction at an outlot at the corner of 171st Street and 80th Avenue in Tinley Park.

The new location will replace the one across the parking lot at the west end of the Tinley Downs Plaza.

The new Dunkin will be considerably bigger than the existing facility at 2,551 square feet compared to 1,946 square feet. The new location will feature a drive-thru lane, which the existing store does not have. There will also be room for indoor seating and a small outdoor patio.

The new development was requested by owner Daley-Mommsen Enterprises primarily to add the drive-thru lane for customer convenience and to boost sales.

The shop employs about 30 people.

The existing location will remain open until the new building is finished.

CD One Price Cleaners coming to Homewood

CD One Price Cleaners, Chicago’s largest dry cleaning and laundry franchise, has announced it will be opening a new store in early 2023 at 18046 S. Halsted St. in Homewood.

When the new store opens, it will be CD One’s 37th location in the Chicago area and the first One Price dry cleaner in Homewood. It will be owned and operated by Pinakin Patel, who also owns CD One Price Cleaners locations in Country Club Hills, Lansing, and Chicago Heights.

This will be the fifth CD One Price Cleaners location owned by Pinakin Patel. They joined the CD One Price Cleaners system and acquired their first store in the Chicago area in 2016.

In early 2022, the chain announced plans to open 10 new locations throughout Chicagoland, bringing the total number of storefronts to 45 across Illinois.

The first CD One Price Cleaners store in the Chicago area opened in Lincolnwood in 2001. Since then, the company has also opened locations in Minneapolis, St. Louis and northwest Indiana.

The company offers dry cleaning, laundered and pressed shirts, personal laundry wash and fold by the pound, and cleaning household goods like comforters and blankets. Recently, the chain collected and cleaned coats at no charge to benefit the Infant Welfare Society of Chicago.

Dania closes again in Orland Park

Dania Furniture has had a mixed history in Orland Park.

The California-based Scandinavian furniture company shut down its four Illinois stores, including Orland Park, in 2015 as part of a company rebranding.

The Orland showroom eventually reopened at 14830 S. LaGrange Ave. And now that location has closed again, permanently, this time, according to the company’s website and a message on its phone.

Showrooms remain open in Northbrook and Lombard.
