A University of Chicago instructor, Rebecca Journey, will teach a class in spring called The Problem of Whiteness. After a student launched an online protest, Journey stated the class is not about the problem with white people but approaches whiteness as a problem in the philosophical sense. Doesn’t a course title usually state the subject of the class? How did Journey’s explanation change the perception, shared by students who agreed with the protesting student, that Journey does view whiteness as a problem?

This comment is to all the right-wing posters here at Speak Out. Joe Biden and the Democrats do not control food and oil prices. Turn off Fox News and go take an economics class. Corporate greed is pricing you out, not Joe Biden.

I always thought the dumbest people ever were the ones that left keys, wallets, credit cards, etc., in their car, oftentimes unlocked. But it seems the jail employee whose car was stolen with his gun and 100 rounds of ammo in Midlothian has them all beat. This guy should have been fired instantly. When contacted by police that his car was found, there was no mention in the story that he had reported it missing previously, along with the gun and live ammo.

One true statement mentioned periodically in Speak Out is voters didn’t necessarily vote for Biden and Democrats but rather against and to prevent Trump and Trump influenced Republicans from being elected. This was evident again in the midterms. The GOP needs to realize this and get a candidate other than Trump or Trump sponsored to run for president. This should bring back many ex-Republicans who voted Democratic. This would include me and most, if not all, of my friends and family. P.S. GOP, this doesn’t mean Herschel Walker.

Lost check in the mail. Here we go again. Months ago I was a victim of a lost check being altered and cashed for $9,500 against my account. I recently mailed a check to Nicor. Again, my check did not ever get to Nicor. Lost in the mail? Stolen? Nobody knows. Late payment was charged. I have lost confidence in the mail service. Change locations of mailing checks, that didn’t help. The thieves are still out there. The post office is no longer safe.
