It’d be sad if the amount of money donated to the winning candidate is the only basis of our country’s future. Shouldn’t what he stands for mean more than the amount of money that’s donated to him? I hope Georgia voters realize this and use their common sense.

It’s been reported Republican Senate candidate in Georgia, Herschel Walker, claimed as his principal residence, for tax purposes for 2022, his residence in Texas. Not Georgia. So now we have another carpetbagger Republican being hustled into another state on a tidal wave of right-wing money to run for an office where he hasn’t lived and doesn’t know the people or the issues. In a couple of weeks, he’ll be joining Mehmet Oz in returning to his real home in the Lone Star State, just as Oz returned to his $45 million mansion in New Jersey. Republicans, so much integrity.
George, South Side
No, no, no Joan of Oak Forest. I do not want cold and flu statistics plastered on the front page in giant letters. It won’t change the people who don’t want to get the vaccinations. Headlines won’t change them, but negativity affects us all. I enjoyed reading about the man growing vegetables and also the man who had chickens. I don’t want all bad news all the time. It will wither your heart and soul.

How many times, by law, can the courts reschedule/continue for Lawrence Wyllie? He’s not in the hospital, is he? Oh, yeah, Dan Webb is his lawyer. I hope he looks in the mirror while waiting to die every day while he collects his pension. His headstone is going to say, ha ha, thank you Lincoln-Way residents.

I am amused at reading another column by Ted Slowik. He talks about the water crisis in south suburban University Park. A person attending a town hall meeting said this would not happen in Highland Park. Well, maybe it would and maybe it would not. Slowik fails to write who has been in charge of mostly all of northern Illinois for the past 30 years. And in the past 10-15 years, African Americans have been in charge of most African American communities. What have Democrats done to rectify this problem? They have let these people down.

To BJ from Hazel Crest. The Republicans that are going to control the House are working for the American people because they’re looking to get rid of the crime families and others that have taken this country down in the last two years. We didn’t have this crisis the four years before Biden stepped in. The first step in getting rid of crime is getting rid of the criminals. Were you this outraged when the Democrats went after Donald Trump with ridiculous claims twice for impeachment and now they’re wasting time trying to accuse Trump of nonsense again.

Nov. 17 and 18 we had wind shear climate. However, nothing compared to what happened in Buffalo, New York. They experienced snow like they never had before. First thing our weather experts say is all to do with climate change. I am not going to dispute them, but I would like to add my little two cents. It’s also to do with spaceships. This is my story and I’m sticking to it.

Does the left hand have any idea what the right hand is doing? How disappointing to read that the Tinley Park Park District expressed interest in the former mental health center property without giving village officials a heads up. Separate governing bodies are one thing, but aren’t they supposed to be in this together to do what’s in the best interest of its residents and taxpayers?
Mary, Tinley Park
I’ve got a message to all the millennials who are for the most part Democrats. Here’s my advice. One, move out of your parents basement. Two, nobody owes you anything. Three, just because you disagree with someone doesn’t mean you have to censor them. And four, most of all, get a job.

I’m tired of reading negative articles in the press about Twitter since Elon Musk bought the company. Before his purchase, Twitter was the darling of media. All he’s trying to do is stop the bias and return free speech to the company. It appears media is very strongly opposed to these ideas.

Amazingly two years later, coincidentally after two elections, the New York Times and CBS have declared Hunter Biden’s laptop and the information there is real. This despite 51 alleged intelligence experts declaring it had all the earmarks of Russian disinformation and Twitter and social media banning any reference to it. Why do you suppose thinking people should mistrust the progressive-run media?

The airlines, in most cities, do not have enough help for handicapped and seniors who are having trouble walking to distant terminals. Sometimes they have carts, but not consistent. They are not bashful at their high cost of flying prices. Every airline should hire young men 18 to 21 with healthy bodies for this work.
Mr. G, Chicago
Leo and Jimbo, I thought the Republicans were going to solve the inflation problems, reduce gas prices? But no, they revealed themselves. Let’s get Hunter Biden’s laptop, go after the Justice Department for trying the insurrectionists. Once again, the wackos are running the ship and will, as they always do, over reach and will soon lose the House again. Beware of what you wish for.
Paul, Tinley Park
Don from Orland Park, I couldn’t be happier that Pekau is going back to Orland Park. He is just another MAGA Republican who is a denier. I rejoiced when I saw Sean Casten had beaten Pekau. Now all they need to do is find a Democrat to beat Pekau for mayor of Orland Park. The 6th district win is Pekau loss.
