Volunteers make blankets at Park Ridge’s Mary, Seat of Wisdom church for those in need

The gymnasium floor of Mary, Seat of Wisdom Catholic parish became a fabric cutting and layout surface Saturday when volunteers gathered to make warm blankets for the homeless and people in need.

Some of the participants in Blanket of Dreams 2022 cut fleece fabric, clipped the ends into fringe and knotted the fringe. Others staffed sewing machines during the Saturday charitable event.

By the end of the day, dozens of finished blankets were stacked and ready to be transported to those without homes and in uncertain circumstances. Temperatures were projected as low as 16 degrees F that night, underscoring the urgency of providing warmth to those in need.
