Money wasted: Thinking back on those tedious campaign ads we were forced to watch for weeks, if not months, I’m reminded of all the money that was wasted on politicians who rarely have our best interests at heart.
Beginning of the end? While “it could have been much worse!” is hardly a slogan for the ages, the truth is the Democrats fared much better than anyone expected in the most recent election, especially in historical terms. Even better, many hard core GOPers are now openly criticizing Mr. Trump for the disappointing results. Maybe one day soon we’ll all look back at the 2022 midterms as the beginning of the end for all the liars, deniers and dividers who currently hog the headlines.
Student loan ruling: A federal judge by court order just struck down the plan to allow student loans to be forgiven nationally. The Biden administration had no Constitutional right to force financially hurting American taxpayers to pay college loans for others, and thank God it was stopped. (Editor’s note: The ruling has been appealed by the U.S. Department of Justice.)
Forgiving loans good: We don’t need what college loans produce? Physicians, nurses, teachers, counselors, engineers, dentists, accountants, lawyers? Have you ever used some of those services? College tuition has become so expensive along with high interest rates. That’s why some expense of college tuition should be forgiven along with helping farmers.
Time well spent: Presidents like others need some down time. Laughing is good for the body. Joe Biden was criticized for appearing on “Jay Leno’s Garage,” but let’s remember all the time Trump spent golfing. Furthermore, talking about electric cars vs. oil and gas is a teaching moment and many need to be informed. The show was a way to reach many in a relaxed setting.
Big difference: My husband and I purchased a middle-range refrigerator at the end of March. Since that time, I have had four repairs. The calls were to replace the light in freezer, the freezer turning off at two different times and the rail on the freezer door breaking. I am told the failed parts are not made in America. Forty-three years ago we purchased an Amana Radarange, domestically manufactured. It has had one repair call. Draw your own conclusions.
This is the reason? The reason the Bears are losing is because they don’t have cheerleaders. Bring back the Honey Bears.
