Threat to our nation
Nothing is more important to the future of our nation than the Jan. 6 investigation. If Republicans are allowed to get away with overturning election results or keeping Democrats from voting freely in elections, America will cease to be a representative democracy. Every Republican official or candidate who claims that the 2020 presidential election was stolen or fraudulent is a threat to our nation. Everyone who looked into the election results — from the Supreme Court, to state courts, to election commissions — found those claims to be untrue. So every Republican who claims otherwise is willfully lying, and threatening the very foundation of our system of government. Without free and fair elections, America becomes just another banana republic.
Open borders
Is Halloween trick-or-treat worth it when colored Fentanyl has been smuggled across the southern border? If I had a small child, I would not allow that child to go out and get candy from an unknown person. It is a sad situation, but that is the lifestyle we have now with open borders. Protect your children.

Someone dropped the ball
I went to the Waukegan library to see a German band perform. They were very enjoyable. The room is normally full, but we only had about 20 people there. I am a friend of the library and used to get a postcard in the mail telling us about upcoming events. It seems that they are not sending them out any more, and people did not know about it. A friend called to tell me, or I would not have been there either. I think someone dropped the ball on this. I sure hope they plan on continuing these events.
The rights of women
Come on people. Listen to scientists and doctors, a fetus is not a baby. Abortion should be a decision made between a woman and her physician. Why are people — mostly men — making laws taking this choice away from women? Don’t agree with abortion? Don’t have one. Women should be able to make this decision, not laws. This is from a senior citizen that cares about the rights of women.
False god
Donald Trump charged the Secret Service $1,185 per room when they stayed at his properties during his reign of absurdity, when the regular rate for folks like you and me was $201. Then, boy blunder Eric Trump said that the Secret Service stayed for free when they stayed at Trump properties. Of course, the truth has now come out and provides further proof how fraudulent that family really is. America First? Nope, Trump first, while screwing over the American taxpayer. Open up your eyes folks, he was always, and continues to be, only about indulging himself. Have some self-respect and quit bowing down to a false god.
