One man was killed and another critically injured early Thursday in a single-car crash at Commons and Conestoga roads in Naperville, police said.
The 19-year-old driver was headed east on Commons at a high rate of speed when his 2016 Audi A6 left the road and struck a tree near Conestoga about 4:20 a.m., the police report said.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, which is near Diehl Road and Mill Street on the city’s north side. His identity is being withheld pending notification of family, police said.
His 25-year-old passenger, a man from Naperville, was taken to a local hospital with critical injuries.
An accident reconstruction is being done, and the case remains under investigation by Naperville police.
