What is really extreme?
I keep hearing Democrats saying in their commercials that the Republicans are extreme because they are against abortions. Really? Isn’t an abortion extreme, instead of birth control or adoption?

Enough already
I don’t know what the politicians in Antioch Township are thinking about asking voters for $16.5 million for a new senior center. This comes just a few weeks before the Nov. 8 election and will be on the ballot. It is reported to be an increase of $106 per year for a $200,000 house. This is in addition to the increase that was approved for the fire/rescue squad referendum in October for around the same amount. So we have two new increases totaling roughly $200 for both referendums on our tax bills. I’d like to know who asked for this new center. I’ve heard nothing about it. Don’t those guys know we’re in a recession? Gas is creeping up to $5 per gallon again, and a loaf of bread is $1 more than it was last year. Supposedly the senior center increase is going to be “temporary.” Since when did a tax ever become temporary. I’m a senior and I’ll give you my vote now — no. Make do with what you have. This is not the time to go with your hand out for more tax money for lack of something better to do. Enough already.
Wait and see
I don’t agree with abortion, never have and never will. But I greatly support a woman’s choice to privacy, and her right to decide what is best for her own body. The lying Supremes have stolen that from all women. Next, they will decide we have no right to privacy or control over our own lives. Their goal seems to be to take all women’s rights away from them. Wait and see.
Rusty bridge
Whose responsibility is it for the overhead pedway crossing the four lanes of traffic on Sheridan Road, near Bowen Park? The pedway bridge is quite rusty and may need inspection for the safety of pedestrians, and drivers passing underneath.
Our ‘injustice system’
I had a prison pen-pal who was held in jail for three years before his case was even heard. Three years of his life were lost because he had no money for bail. The bail system is unjust and horrible. Don’t let the would-be “tough on crime” scaremongers convince you otherwise. Oh and by the way, 10 years later a dedicated public defender pushed for a jury trial, and the jury found him innocent. What I call our injustice system” sorely needs cleaning up.
Repair the wall
Come on Waukegan, if Long Grove can keep repairing their historic covered bridge you can surely repair a historic brick wall.
Don’t believe it
Dirty is dirty. The FBI will never, ever, ever take the stain off of their agency. They did wrong, and now they’re going to pretend they’re going to try to change things by trying to indict Mr. Biden’s son, Hunter. Accidentally leaked out? I don’t think so. It was intentional right before the midterms to try to clean up their agency. This is all a bunch of hooey. It’s a bunch of garbage. It’s too late for that. So, please don’t believe the mainstream media that they’re going to indict Hunter. Understand that Mr. President Pinocchio Joe is now a liability for the crazy left. So, understand that there is a reason and a rhyme to their madness right now. Don’t believe what they’re saying in the mainstream media.
Speaking truths
I was watching the Waukegan City Council meeting and I want to commend Mr. Clyde McLemore for standing up and speaking his rights. They were wrong to arrest him, and I hope he knows his First Amendment rights has been violated. And nowhere in the Open Meetings Act are they allowed to remove a person as long as they’re not threatening or a harassing. Mr. McLemore, I wish you the best of luck and keep doing what you’re doing because you are speaking truths.
