My friend informed me the other day that October is Italian American Heritage Month. He asked me why the media has not given it any mention. I told him Italian Americans do not have the recognition or standing in the community it once had. Sure, everyone loves pizza, but not Christopher Columbus. Our heritage is just as important as other nationalities, but the others have a much more wider following today. Just remember who painted the Mona Lisa and the Sistine Chapel in Vatican City, it wasn’t the others.

It was reported Federal Reserve Chairperson Jerome Powell’s efforts to cool down the economy are causing progressive criticism to heat up. I know the Federal Reserve is an independent agent, but people being thrown under the bus because too many are working, buying houses for the first time and cars, and may be able to take a vacation. The only way to stop them, per Powell, is to bring them to their knees and keep raising the interest rate so we can have a higher unemployment to bring down inflation. I think the Federal Reserve needs its committee to challenge the chairperson when it comes to the economy.
