Tax rebate for seniors: Seniors can also get property tax rebate: If you are a senior, all your income was nontaxable, you pay property tax in Illinois and did not file state taxes, you can go to www2.illinois.gov/rev/programs/Rebates/Pages/Default.aspx and submit Form IL-1040-PTR electronically or by mail. Singles get $50 and married filing jointly get $100. You have until Oct. 17 to file. I did this and already received my check.

Baseball disappoints again: While the city of Chicago offers so much to so many, a championship baseball season is not among them as witnessed by the collapse of the White Sox and the mediocrity of the Cubs. So, all together now… “Wait till next year!”

Pot calling kettle black: Today’s word is “projection,” a psychological term that refers to the avoidance of one’s own unpleasant qualities by attributing them to others. For example: Donald Trump calling Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis a fat, phony whiner. Tomorrow’s word will be: “psychopath.”

Proud to be MAGA: I’m a proud MAGA Republican who served this country. I do not carjack nor do I rob and shoot people at convenience stores and gasoline stations or loot businesses. I a not a Confederate. It’s Biden that’s divided this country, not former President Trump.

Marching to different drum: Of all the legitimate reasons for not having kids, like finances, unstable relationships, personality defects, etc., Gen Z picks the most ridiculous one there is — the weather!

Must be a joke: Hey, Pritzker and Lightfoot, you want to get the Democratic Convention here in Chicago when nine people were killed and 50-something shot in just one weekend? Come on, who would want to come here to Chicago? Come on, Lightfoot, why don’t you get more police out there and do something for Chicago. You guys sit around and say, Oh, look at what we did. You didn’t do nothing. Let’s get real people. Get rid of them two.

Doing your bit: You can become your own personal climate activist. You can deactivate your automatic garage door opener, pull the plugs on your refrigerator, microwave, toaster, washer and dryer. Limit your travel to short trips using only a bicycle or, better yet, walk. Heaven forbid, you could maybe read a book rather than watch TV. You may have even better ideas.
