Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot says crime in Chicago is down. Sounds like someone seeking reelection. People riding the CTA getting hit over the head with a wine bottle, attempted kidnapping and let’s not forget the daily shootings in and around the city. Darren Bailey called the city a hellhole, perhaps the only comment he’s ever made that is true. Perhaps Elvis Presley said it best when he recorded his song “In the Ghetto.”

I am not Democrat or Republican. I vote for the person, not the party. I declare when I have to and vote my conscience when necessary. I have lived in Illinois for 19 years, not by choice, and have seen nothing but crooked, corrupt Democratic leaders from the top down. And now Illinois has a Democratic leader that pays his way through, as does Cook County Democratic leaders. Most would call that bribery.

Gail Collins’ column in the Southtown Sept. 16 was just awful. She must be taking lessons from Ted Slowik. Kamala Harris as president, yikes. She’d probably cackle for the entire 90 minutes. This country is being run by a president whose brain is asleep. At least for four years, we could afford to live, pay bills, eat, buy a car, save money and have Medicare insurance and medication we could afford. Let’s make America great again, not so much by Trump, but a leader that cares about the American people.

Why does Mayor Lori Lightfoot get away with downgrading all the people that talk about her? CEO of McDonald’s, that man is educated enough to run a corporation. You aren’t educated enough to even run a city. You have so many people getting shot and killed. Why can’t you take care of your own city, not downgrade your Police Department, your Fire Department and everybody else if that does not agree with you.

Ted Slowik failed to ask state Rep. Will Davis two very important questions that would have put an entirely different perspective on a proposed south suburban airport. Number one, does Davis accept any moneys from the business entities involved? Number two, who are these mysterious business entities behind this proposal? These would seem to be pretty basic questions in regards to the real story here.
