A world-class car is an artistic creation. From elegant fender lines to memories evoked by the leather’s musky scent on a rainy day, these traits work together to create something unique. Alex Manos is a Los Angeles-based antique car enthusiast, businessman and founder and president of Beverly Hills Car Club, which specializes in vintage European luxury and sports models.
Although Beverly Hills Car Club is for every classic car fan, it boasts high-flyers and celebrity clients and Hollywood A-listers. Beverly Hills Car Club collection ranges from $5,000 Mustangs to million-dollar Ferraris, as well as classic models from Lamborghini to Porsche, Maserati, Alfa Romeo, Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz, and many more rare European and American cars. Manos is driven by the values of hard work, determination, and a “never give up” attitude. To date, he has bought over 14,000 classic cars in the U.S. and sold almost all of them globally.
Manos was born in England but moved to California with his mother when he was a teenager. His success did not happen overnight. He made enormous personal sacrifices over the past 15 years to grow Beverly Hills Car Club. The passionate car enthusiast works almost 24/7, often misses many special occasions, and has invested 100% of his energy into building his dream car paradise.
“I have taught myself the ins and outs of the classic car industry and have learned to optimize the business of buying and selling classic cars in today’s competitive climate,” Manos shares. “I’d be lying if I said it’s easy to maintain my laser focus, but I have never wavered in this goal, reminding myself constantly that quitters never win and winners never quit.”
Although such dedication has taken steep toll on Manos, he’s glad that it has pushed him to persist and work harder to achieve so much at just 40 years old. A resilient businessman, Manos has always set aspirational goals for himself and never quits until he is satisfied that he has done everything in his power to succeed. “Competition is intense in the collector and classic car world, and rising to the top of my field has required the strictest discipline and routine at all times,” Manos adds.
He suggests that you should get up early for work and never procrastinate to achieve your goals. He strongly believes in the American Dream and that anything is possible, and he has consistently focused on achieving his dreams. His guiding quote is, “Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars,” by Norman Vincent Peale.
Beverly Hills Car Club is already close to becoming and American brand leader in classic cars. Manos aims to make it the world’s leading classic car dealer while seeing himself continually growing, spreading his passion for these cars and helping the world appreciate them as an art form. “I get an endorphin rush just looking at a photo of a classic car, let alone driving one. I want as many people as possible to join this club and enjoy the same sensations,” Manos says.
Additionally, he hopes to help as many young people as possible understand the automotive culture’s history. It is important to him that car lovers of every age understand how these beautiful, handmade masterpieces of engineering ingenuity were designed and built.
“Get up early, start work and don’t procrastinate, or you won’t achieve your goals,” Manos concludes.
