The weather was a little wet Saturday morning, but that didn’t stop people from coming out for Montgomery Fest.
Montgomery Village President Matt Brolley said those attending the event, especially the kids, seemed to be having fun despite the occasional rain.
“They love whatever the situation,” Brolley said of the children, “so I think we all need to embrace that this weekend.”
The festival in Montgomery continues through Sunday and includes music, carnival rides, food, a parade, fireworks and more.
Most Montgomery Fest activities are at Montgomery Park, with the entrance at the corner of River and Mill streets.
Saturday morning, activities continued despite the rain, including the Mr. Freeze Science Show.
The “Chalk with a Cop” event featuring the creation of chalk art also went forward, even though the wet pavement was a little difficult to work with Saturday.
Montgomery Deputy Police Chief Armando Sanders is an avid drawer and said the chalk art program is a nice way to interact with residents.
“We have found it is a great way (for residents) to meet our officers who are out here doing a great job. The officers interact with the adolescents, and everyone is having fun,” he said.
