This dual leadership approach replaces the previous structure of having a sole artistic director. Green and Pacheco will be responsible for curating CHF’s programming, creating events and social experiences, and improving the organization’s community partnerships.
“The co-creative director model further supports our commitments to collaboration and to presenting a diversity of voices on our stages to inspire people across Chicago,” said Phillip Bahar, the CHF’s executive director.

Green has been a senior programmer at CHF for almost a year. He’s previously worked at the Art Institute and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago.
Pacheco is a curator, civic practice artist and community organizer. She’s previously worked at the School of the Arts at Indiana University Northwest.
“I’m excited to bring the festival’s events to every corner of the city and to deepen our many programmatic and community partnerships,” she said in a news release. “At this moment, we have a unique opportunity to reimagine how the festival can more fully engage with the city.”
Green and Pacheco will start their new roles in September.
