Threats to FBI wrong: An armed man decked out in body armor tried to breach a security screening area at an FBI field office in Ohio last week. There have been growing threats in recent days against FBI agents and offices across the country since federal agents executed a search warrant at Mar-a-Lago. The blame is directed from those who choose to use violence toward law-enforcement to threaten their investigation of citizen Donald Trump!

I’ll take my chances: There’s little question that Joe Biden is slowing down. His frequent memory lapses, even in mid-sentence, would seem to disqualify him from ever being a leading man in future Prevagen ads But whom would you rather have in the Oval Office in the middle of the next coup? Someone who finds joy and comfort in watching the demise of our democracy on live TV or a true leader who’s quick to call for reinforcements? Me, I’ll take my chances with the old-timer in the aviator glasses every time.

Democracy in action: The columnist who wrote that Kansans rejected the Supreme Court ruling on abortion is wrong. They did exactly what the SCOTUS said should have been done from the beginning — the citizens of each state should decide what they want, not the feds. That is what their ruling decided.

Just ask nicely: Following the raid at Mar-a-Lago, Donald Trump suggested he would have gladly handed over his stash of “declassified” documents if only the feds had asked nicely. With than in mind, Merrick Garland should now request old income tax forms, college transcripts and any evidence that he once sold his soul to the devil.

Here’s an idea: I just read about the Illinois Department of Corrections health care failures, most of which I guess are caused by staffing shortages. Since medical school and college is expensive and cause massive student loans, why can’t the state use federal subsidies to pay some debt of college and medical student work in exchange for, say, working three years at a state facility. Those who choose to work in prisons could get a bonus. Hopefully better care at nursing homes, senior facilities and some prisons.
