Mail theft not only happens at the collection boxes, but also at the receiver’s mail box! In 2020, our business rent check was stolen by our northern suburbs landlord’s mail carrier! The check was washed for the same large amount and our account information was used for additional checks. All were caught by our bank. Thank goodness we have a great service bank. Since then, we pay our rent through the bank, try to pay most bills electronically and watch our account daily.

Isn’t there an ordinance that prohibits political campaign signs from going up and staying up months before the election? Pekau for Congress campaign signs are up all over Orland Park and because of their size they are impossible to miss. Could it have something to do with Pekau being the mayor of Orland Park? People over Politics? Baloney.

I would like to salute the lady on the first page of the Wednesday paper involved with teenage foster children and adoption. I think she’s doing God’s work and I hope there was a lot more people like her.

The James Webb Telescope has now started sending pictures back to us and boy are they phenomenal. Do you realize we are just now seeing light that’s getting to us from stars that were formed billions of years ago and have already died. Incredible. The natural world is something to behold, which is precisely why I don’t need the supernatural to feel really good about life.
