Don’t play victim: Some people seem to think it’s OK to break our laws like driving while texting or using the phone or driving in the wrong lane. When they get caught, they blame the police and play the victim. Take responsibility for your actions.
Protest vs. coup: Can you please explain why those who forced themselves into the presidential palace in Sri Lanka, forcing out the president, taking it over, and compelling the military to surround the city, are referred to as “protesters” rather than “insurrectionists” or “seditionists” or “rebels” by the media? What’s the difference?
Man of his ‘time’: The current campaign ads for Darren Bailey prove once and for all that he’s a man of his time. Unfortunately, that would be the middle of the 19th century, when women’s rights were nonexistent and abortions were limited to back alleys.
Not gubernatorial: After the horrific tragedy in Highland Park, all Darren Bailey could say was party on. I don’t think he is governor material.
Tourists beware: Mayor Lori Lightfoot wants tourists to flock the Chicago and enjoy the sites, but what she fails to tell the public is to make sure their life insurance is paid up. The mayor doesn’t mention that little kids are being shot sitting in their bedrooms or how walking down the street can be deadly. If Chicago is so safe, the mayor should cancel her own security and try walking the streets alone.
Racial road equity: The Biden administration is launching a $1 billion program to build racial equity in roads as if we don’t have more pressing problems like gas prices, food and general merchandise shortages, and the list can go on. So Pete Buttigieg, former mayor, small town South Bend, think about fixing roads and bridges before your project to build racial equity in roads.
Enough complaining: If President Biden eliminates the federal gas tax and people are still complaining about it, how about all you whiners take the 18 cents a gallon you save and send it to me or flush it down the toilet. Better yet. Give it to your favorite charity. Whatever you may decide, I hope you choose to stop complaining about paying less for gas.
Blame non-voters: If or when our Republic is lost, the fault will lie at the feet of the people who did not vote. If 60% of people vote, then it only takes 30% plus one to win. We need every citizen to pay attention to what is going on.
