La Grange School District 105 is holding a special meeting at 9 a.m. June 29 at St. Cletus Catholic School, 700 W. 55th St., La Grange to discuss how the district will serve students with disabilities in St. Cletus or who are home-schooled within the district during the 2022-2023 school year.
In accordance with the requirements of the Federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act of 2004 (IDEA, 2004), public school districts are required to spend a portion of the Federal Part B special education funds in order to provide identified students with disabilities who attend private schools with the opportunity to equitably participate in special education services offered by the district.
As part of that process, the district must hold a public meeting in order to discuss District 105 plans to fulfill that responsibility for the coming school year. We will be available to answer questions about the plan, and gather feedback. Additionally, School District 105 will share information about how students with suspected disabilities can access the process by our district for screening and evaluation of students with suspected disabilities.
Community participation in this process is extremely valuable to District 105 and school officials hope you will attend. If you have any questions or concerns prior to the meeting, please contact Coleen Winterfield at [email protected] or 708-482-2700.
