Assault rifles only kill: There is an obvious uncooperative elephant in the room when discussing assault rifles. Do not ignore that this weapons’ only purpose is to kill people! In doing so, it is in such a violent manner that it tears gaping holes into the intended victim’s body. Many of the mass murderers have chosen the assault rifle because of its compatibility for their purpose. Those individuals that support the availability of assault rifles claim it is a needed weapon for personal public safety and is their right under the Second Amendment. There is no known test that can identify, with a high enough reliability, of those who could be future mass murders.

Depp didn’t win: While a judge declared Johnny Depp the big winner in his libel lawsuit against Amber Heard, what exactly did he accomplish besides labeling himself a drug addict and alcohol abuser? I hardly call that a triumph. What’s more, if he ends up being scorned by the industry that made him famous, was the publicity worth all that humiliation?

Baby formula question: I would like to know why the media has failed to ask Abbott’s competitors why, when they heard about Abbott’s closure and product recall, they failed to ramp up their production to take over Abbott’s shelf space and market? That would seem to be a “no-brainer,” right?

European gas prices: The price of gasoline in Germany is about 48% taxes and the price in Italy is about 55% tax. This equates to being cheaper than U.S. prices as our taxes, while high in our views, are much less. Prices in those countries have always been high due to the same liberal, socialist-leaning, anti-fossil fuel crusade of policies that are now in place in this country.

Selective inclusion: I find it amusing that some people do not want police officers in uniform to march in the Gay Pride Parade in Aurora. I thought these were the people pushing for diversity, inclusion and acceptance.

Elect ex-military to office: When is the last time we had any ex-military run for any office in Chicago or Illinois or national? We need ex-military to run for some of these offices. We need somebody with experience of how to handle situations.
