Student Council President Maia Halm gave the student address. Lexi Estrada gave the commencement meditation. Murphy Byrne, president of the Class of 2022, presented the class gift. And, Morgan Fry was the honors orator.

“One thing I can say for certain is that I am proud to have gone to LT,” Byrne said. “And I’m just as certain that LT is proud of us for graduating today.”

Byrne said the ceremony isn’t just about the 2022 graduates.

“It’s about the community we’ve been surrounded by the last four years and our last chance to appreciate and celebrate it,” Byrne said.

Halm asked her fellow graduates to do a little homework. Thank those in their lives who helped them get there, teachers, parents and those who kept them safe.

Frye told her classmates that they’d transformed from little freshmen struggling to learn the LT fight song to the accomplished group sitting before on graduation day.

“Of course this journey was not without its challenges,” Fry said. “From life pre-pandemic, to remote, hybrid and full in-person learning, we discovered how to adapt to any curveball that were thrown our way.”

Superintendent Brian Waterman told the class that passion enthusiasm a good work ethic helped them get to the graduation and will be instrumental in their success in life. One characteristic hasn’t changed is understanding that the true measure of success in the world is how you treat others.

“Please simply be kind . . . ,” Waterman said. “After all, being kind is what this world needs more of.”
