A Carpentersville man has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in the shooting deaths of two men at a Congdon Avenue apartment last month, Elgin police said.
Keith A. Johnson, 34, of the first block of North Grove Street, is being held in Cook County Jail without bond for the April 10 murders of Jonathan King, 32, of Elgin, and Jaysin Rodriguez, 19, of Elgin.
The shooting occurred at party at which the suspect and victims were present, a news release said. Four other men also were injured by gunfire.

Johnson was taken into custody Saturday in the first block of Evergreen Lane in Carpentersville by the police department’s Major Investigations and Special Investigations divisions, the release said.
“We appreciate the Elgin community’s patience as detectives worked diligently to make an arrest,” Police Chief Ana Lalley said. “We also appreciate the community members who provided information to assist in the investigation.”
No information was provided on what provoked the fight, how/if the alleged shooter and the victims knew each other or what led to Johnson’s arrest.
