Work begins next week on improvements to four intersections across a 5-mile stretch of 75th Street from Millbrook Drive in Naperville to Greene Road in Woodridge.

The $4.5 million project is a part of the $53.5 million DuPage County plans to spend on road and bridge infrastructure in 2022.

Work on intersection enhancements planned for Millbrook Drive, Modaff Road, Olympus Drive and Greene Road is scheduled to start Monday, April 18, and continue through mid-August.

Naperville is advising drivers to expect delays daily because of long-term lane closures near these intersections.

The county is replacing the traffic signals all four intersections and improving sidewalks and curb ramps.

Right-turns lanes are being added to 75th Street at Modaff Road, Olympus Drive and Greene Road, and modifications also are planned for left-turn lanes at the three locations.

A westbound right-turn lane will be added at Millbrook Drive.

Construction of the right-turn lanes will start first, followed by the left-turn lane modifications, officials said.

New traffic signals will be installed during daily lane closures. The contractor will begin by installing temporary traffic signals at Greene Road.

In addition, DuPage will patch and resurface 53 miles of county highways this season, including Hobson Road from Washington Street to the East Branch DuPage River in Naperville.

The $9 million in pavement maintenance throughout the county is to be completed by October.

Another $1 million was set aside for the county’s bridge repair and rehabilitation program.

Work will occur this year in the Naperville area on the Mill Street bridge over Interstate 88 and 75th Street over the East Branch of the DuPage River, which also should be completed by October.
