Lockport resident’s reading results in air fryer reward
Lockport’s Audra Van Raden had heard plenty of good things about air fryers but was not ready to invest in one, so she won one instead.
Van Raden, who works for Community High School District 218 as curriculum director for physical education, health, driver education and JROTC, recently won the Orland Park Public Library’s Blizzard of Books Winter Reading Challenge.
She was the lucky one to have one of her drawing slips randomly selected to win the air fryer. Van Raden told staff members Katie Allan and Natalie Finlon that she planned on making dinner with it the same night she picked up her prize.
Participants in the challenge received a drawing slip for each book they read, but no more than 15 slips, although they were more than welcome to read more than 15 books. Drawing slips were entered in the drawing for the air fryer along with a selection of gift card prizes from local businesses.
