An Elgin man who sexually assaulted an under-age girl several times, including once in which he videotaped the attack, has been sentenced to 21 years in prison.
Kane County prosecutors said Jorge Gonzalez Munoz, 44, of the 900 block of Larkin Avenue, knew his victim, who was under the age of 18. He pleaded guilty to three counts of felony criminal sexual assault and one count of producing child pornography, a class X felony, in January.
Judge Alice Tracy imposed the sentence, giving Gonzalez Munoz five years for each sexual assault incident and six additional years for the video recording, a Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office news release said.

Each term will be served consecutively and Gonzalez Munoz must serve at least 85% of the sentence, under state law. He will receive credit for the 665 days spent in the Kane County jail awaiting resolution of the case, the release said.
He also must register for life as a sexual offender.
“The victim/survivor in this case has been through a lot,” Assistant State’s Attorney Matthew Rodgers said in the release. “I am grateful for her courage and cooperation during this prosecution.”
