player ready...A proposal for a 13-unit apartment complex on Dearlove Road is under consideration by Glenview’s New Development Commission.
Under the proposal reviewed by commission members Mar. 9, the three-story building would be made entirely of four-bedroom apartments and include 28 on-site parking slots. The proposed site of the apartments is a currently undeveloped lot.
The complex would consist of fully-furnished rental units leased by bedroom on a short-term lease. According to Henry Che of developer Sontra Capital Management, the leases would be targeted toward contractors or consultants seeking accommodations during extended business travel.
Commission members discussed the proposal for the first time last week, raising concerns about the use of aluminum and limestone on the complex’s facade and requesting the use of more traditional construction materials to fit with the character of neighboring structures.
According to a staff report, in 2006 another proposal for the site called for a 14-unit apartment building. Development of the project was never pursued.
The commission will discuss the new proposed complex next on April 13.
