A Mediterranean-style restaurant is coming to Uptown Park Ridge.

The Park Ridge Liquor License Review Board on March 7 voted to recommend City Council approval of a restaurant and bar liquor license for Shemroon Kabab House, which is planning to open at 430 Touhy Ave.

The restaurant will occupy space previously belonging to Jackie’s Nails and Spa, just east of Prospect Avenue.

Owner Mehdi Hajiaghazadeh said interior demolition work is complete and he is hoping to start renovations soon.

“If everything goes well, we are looking for the end of May or beginning of June to open the restaurant,” he told the liquor license review board.

The restaurant’s menu features a variety of Persian kabab dishes featuring chicken, lamb, beef, salmon and ribeye with bacon. Red and white wines, whiskey and spirits will be sold.

This is the first restaurant for Hajiaghazadeh, who is the owner of a daycare center business, he told the liquor board. He and his wife will own and operate Shemroon Kabab House, he said.
