Deb Clapp, the executive director of the League of Chicago Theatres for the past 14 years, is leaving her position, effective at the end of June.
The League is a member service, advocacy and marketing organization that represents the bulk of Chicago’s large and diverse theater scene, and also is the operator of the Hot Tix discount-ticket program. It will conduct a national search for a replacement.

League of Chicago Theatres board chair Heidi Thompson Saunders praised Clapp’s tenure in a statement. “We are fortunate to have had her leadership through the pandemic,” Thompson Saunders said, “and thank her for her sustaining advocacy on behalf of the field.”
Clapp, 62, an East Coast native, said she would be moving to Massachusetts where she plans to explore new opportunities.
