Perhaps the CBS Halftime Show didn’t get the field placement of their set quite right.
In fact, it was so wrong, the CBS Halftime Show may as well have just aired the actual on-field halftime performance occurring right by them — at least base on how clearly the on-field concert was heard over their broadcast.
Right as the CBS program began — at the halfway point of the Bengals-Kansas City Conference Championship game — so did Walker Hayes’ performance of “Fancy Like.”
Usually the volume of the on-field entertainment has minimal effect on the audio of the live television program. But it seems the set was placed entirely too close to the on-field stereo system at Arrowhead Stadium.
Instead of hearing a first half analysis of the game, viewers got graphics laid over Walker singing, “Yeah, we fancy like Applebee’s on a date night. Got that Bourbon Street steak with the Oreo shake. Get some whipped cream on the top too.”
