As the number of COVID-19 cases continues to rise so too does the demand for rapid-result or PCR tests.

Oswald’s Pharmacy in Naperville offers four different tests and has 80 appointment slots open daily, owner Alex Anderson said. But they get booked quickly so anyone seeking a time slot will need to book a few days in advance, he said.

Appointments are even tougher to secure at local Walgreens and CVS pharmacies, which as of Tuesday had no test slots available in Naperville for the rest of the week.

The University of Illinois operates SHIELD saliva testing sites across the state that do not require appointment. The closest SHIELD saliva testing site is at Joliet Junior College, 1215 Houbolt Rd.
