An Elk Grove Village man faces felony weapons and drug charges in connection with the shooting of a 19-year-old man in Glenview, authorities said Friday.

Jaylen Sanford, 19, of the 400 block of Perrie Drive in Elk Grove Village, was charged Friday with reckless discharge of a firearm, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, possession of a controlled substance and possession of cannabis in connection with a shooting in the parking lot of Plaza del Prado in the 2700 block of Pfingsten Road, police said in a release. Sanford is being held for a bond hearing at the Skokie Courthouse, according to the release.

On Dec. 9, shortly after midnight, police responded to a shooting in the parking lot of Plaza del Prado in the 2700 block of Pfingsten Road, where they found a 19-year-old male shot inside of a vehicle, police said. They said he was transported by the Glenview fire department to Lutheran General Hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

No information on the motive for the shooting was given by police.
