Burr Ridge police are investigating a car jacking that happened around 12:04 p.m. Monday in the 100 block of Burr Ridge Parkway.

According to an advisory from the police department on the village website, two suspects were in a gray Cadillac four door sedan when one exited the car, displaying a gun to a woman and took her vehicle. The victim was unharmed and went to a nearby store to call police, the alert said.

The Cadillac appears to have had work done to the right fender and is a different color than the rest of the vehicle, police said.

With car jackings continuing to increase in the Chicago area, police are recommending people to be vigilant and extra aware of their surroundings.
