Looking like a dog park
Waukegan really needs to look at its fence ordinance. We need to amend it. I think we need to remove the fences in the front yards. If people don’t want to repair them or if there are arguments regarding the fences, let’s just remove them in the front. You can have all the fences you want in the back, but remove them from the front yard. Waukegan, on top of seeing all these cars, we’re starting to look like a dog park.
Time to step up
If I hear one more goofy Republican say that we left people behind in Afghanistan, I’m going to crawl through the scribbly little line on my telephone. Let me give you a little story: Under incredibly difficult situations, we moved hundreds of thousands of people out of Afghanistan. There were full C-17s lined up, and flying out every 15 to 20 minutes. They were lined up like rabbits, and they were going in and getting them out. Almost 99% of the people that are still there have dual citizenship in Afghanistan. They did not want to get out of there until now. They said we should have stayed and got them out. For that, it would have involved a firefight. This is a fact — this government is still working to get those people out one way or another, through back channels, and eventually they will. Anybody that wants out will get out. And it’s time for the Lake County News-Sun and the goofy Republicans in this country to step up to the plate and start speaking about that.
