Palos 118’s Paris earns Master Board Member status

Palos School District 118 school board member Pamela Paris has earned Master Board Member status from the Illinois Association of School Boards.

Master board members earn points by attending IASB division meetings, governing meetings, legislative leadership programs, as well as holding positions of leadership within the association.

Paris, who currently is the school board’s vice president, has been a District 118 board member since 2015 and has served in a number of leadership roles within the district. She currently is board liaison for the District 118 Foundation, the Parent Faculty Association and the Music Parents Association.

“I am honored to serve as a school board member for Palos 118,” Paris said. “Participating in professional development is an important part of being an effective board member.”

Frankfort wealth adviser receives award

Ameriprise Financial’s Claudia Marban has been named a recipient of the 2021 Five Star Wealth Manager award by Five Star Professional.

The award goes to less than 7% of the wealth managers in the region based on research administered by Five Star Professional, a third-party research firm.

To receive the 2021 Five Star Wealth Manager award, a wealth manager must meet 10 objective eligibility and evaluation criteria associated with providing quality services to clients including client retention rates, client assets administered, firm review and favorable regulatory and complaint history.

Marban has 21 years of experience with Ameriprise Financial. Marban is part of Claudia Marban & Associates, a private wealth advisory practice of Ameriprise Financial Services.

The Ameriprise office is located in Frankfort.

Koppers sisters playing soccer at Monmouth College

Tinley Park sisters Samantha and Nicole Koppers recently finished their season with the Monmouth College women’s soccer team, which finished 5-11-1 this fall.

Samantha appeared in all but one game, making six starts and scoring two goals and contributing a pair of assists. Nicole appeared in all 17 games, making nine starts. Prior to venturing to Monmouth, the sisters helped Andrew win its first state trophy, taking fourth in the state in Class 3A in 2018.
