Plain stupid
I’m a military veteran. In regards to the Kyle Rittenhouse murder trial, if you are carrying an AR-15 rifle, you could kill someone at a significant distance away from you. If you chase someone with an AR-15 rifle, you are plain stupid and are trying to harm the individual.
A nation gone under
Ronald Reagan said it. We are one nation under God, and we will be a nation gone under.
A good bet

I just read an article about U.S. casinos reporting the best quarter ever. They won nearly $14 billion in the third quarter of this year. So, if casinos are doing so well, why isn’t Waukegan working a little harder to get our casino built? Just asking.
Uneven justice is no justice
This is for the no-standards, move-the-goal-posts, hypocritical, despicable, double-standard Democrats: a Jan. 6 rabble rouser who punched a police officer in his face shield, who was not hurt, gets a 31/2-year prison sentence? Please. Give me a Brandon break. Uneven justice is no justice at all. It is a communist, totalitarian power abuse used to scare the resistance into submission to the virtue-signaling, lying Democrats.
Lose your welfare
People that have jobs are losing them because they’re not vaccinated. What a bunch of hooey. What about people who are on welfare. My money supports people that don’t want to work. Are we applying the same rules to people on welfare? What about them? Get vaccinated or lose your welfare.
Let’s own up
Wonderful. Thanks to COVID-19, Plascencia has the perfect excuse to blame physical, emotional and learning problems on COVID. Yes, children are having problems related to COVID. However, many of the schools in the county do not have to deal with physical fights, and don’t have to deal with substandard learning results. It’s not helpful to adopt the prevailing blame-game mentality to attempt to solve problems. Furthermore, using the blame-game theory does not set a good example for students. Let’s own up to dealing with the real causes of the problem.
Make this happen
I was so disappointed that Ann Taylor wasn’t prepared to contribute more to the WHA affordable housing ribbon-cutting and celebration than to point out that this section of Waukegan is a food desert. Thanks for the reminder, Captain Obvious. Taylor should have done her pre-work and used the occasion to announce her city administration’s commitment to build on the WHA’s success, and bring a grocery store to the South Side. The city has the pivotal role to make this happen — by providing the necessary infrastructure. Taylor must make this a top priority for her city economic development department, her chief of staff and herself, to engage with South Side community leaders and grocery retailers to make sure this gets done. That’s how North Chicago was able to end the food desert in their community.
