What will it take?
Scott Fairlamb, a 44-year-old former MMA fighter, was sentenced to 41 months in prison after pleading guilty to assaulting a Capitol police officer. Fairlamb, a self-proclaimed “patriot,” claimed responsibility while stating, “That’s not who I am. That’s not what I was raised to be.” Fairlamb, a QAnon follower, promoted the theory that Trump would become the first president of a “new republic” on March 4. He now claims to have been “duped” by social media. It’s been over a year since the presidential election. After numerous recounts, audits and lawsuits, there isn’t one substantial piece of evidence of election fraud. Yet over 70% of Republicans still believe the big lie, told by the big liar. Mr. Fairlamb was slapped back to reality with a 41-month jail sentence. What will it take for the rest of you?
Another layer won’t work
I hope money coming from the recently passed infrastructure bill will fix Grand Avenue and Washington Street in Waukegan. Both streets will need a complete rebuild from the base on up. Another layer of asphalt will not work anymore.
Seems kind of elitist
What a great Veterans Day in Waukegan. There was a swell parade, a memorial dedication and visits by Sen. Duckworth and Congressman Schneider. At least that’s what we learned in the News-Sun the day after it happened, since Waukegan public relations can’t seem to publish their calendar. Oh wait, it’s only available on the internet. Seems kind of elitist, but maybe they just don’t like the News-Sun.
Wrong in every way
I think it’s horrific that the last administration separated illegal immigrant children from their parents. A heartless thing to do. It was wrong in every way. Inhumane. But to now compensate those illegal immigrant parents is insane. It was a chance those parents took. The taxpayers shouldn’t have to compensate for the mistakes of our leaders, or those taking a chance migrating here.

I don’t buy the story
If I choose not to send my child to preschool, why should my tax money pay for other children to go at my expense? And, I don’t buy the story that it will not raise my taxes.
What a chump
Who the heck would root for the Packers anymore when they have a “cheater” among them, Aaron Rodgers? He lied to everyone, and said that he was vaccinated. What a chump. Does anyone think highly of him anymore? He’s a bum. I used to enjoy watching the Packers play, but not now.
Sheer agony
The health and government officials should see how cruel and evil they are to force people who may have antibodies or preexisting allergies, autoimmune diseases or just a religious aversion to being a cannibal, and taking remnants of aborted fetuses into their bodies. It would be kinder to face a firing squad than the suffering and sheer agony of this experimental shot. It seems that the Nuremburg Code has no authority here, and we should apologize to those Nazis who went to their deaths under the Nuremburg laws.
