Right around the corner: The “ugly season” is upon us, when skies turn gray, the trees go bare and summer gardens begin their lengthy hibernation. Add to that a sudden chill in the air and it’s unmistakable that winter can’t be far behind.

Say it ain’t so: Tell me the rumors about Blago running for mayor of Chicago are as false as the “Big Lie.” Haven’t we had to endure enough narcissistic, loudmouth politicians in the past few years to last several lifetimes!

How is this fair? The wealthiest 400 American families paid an 8.2% average rate on federal income taxes from 2010 to 2018, according to an analysis released by the White House in September.

Illegal reparations: How preposterous and insane is it that the Biden-Harris administration would have the gall to consider so-called reparations to traumatized illegals that were separated from their families due to arrest and detainment when trying to gain illegal entry into our country? Our government doesn’t even compensate our Gold Star military families for their loved ones being killed in action as much as the $145,000 that supposedly being considered. Shameful!

Rodgers lied: Had Aaron Rodgers said he was allergic to vaccine ingredients before he contracted COVID-19, it may have been believable. But claiming an allergy after the fact and substituting the word “immunized” for “vaccinated” when, in fact, they are interchangeable in medicine, leads me to believe he just plain lied. It reminded me of Bill Clinton arguing the word “is” at a hearing. With Green Bay’s loss to the Chiefs, if they end up one game short of making the playoffs, he will have disappointed not only his fans, but his entire team.

Thank a vet: Thursday was Veterans Day and I salute and give thanks to all our veterans who have served our country. With almost 19 million veterans alive and living in the USA today, we should all make it a point to call the ones we know this week and say thank you!

Support will backfire: I understand Illinoisans’ political convictions are very strong in this blue state. I know people here are accepting of higher prices at the pump in support of our president’s energy policies. I know they also supported his cancellation of the Keystone natural gas pipeline on his first day in office. Just wait until you get your gas bills this winter. Thank you for your support.
