This will take more than money: Now that the Democrats have their infrastructure bill in hand maybe they can begin the biggest bridge-building project of all, uniting the progressive wing with the moderate wing.
Making deals with the devil: There are so many reasons why Joe Biden’s polling numbers are in a steep decline and people are losing confidence, including a border crisis, attempts to spend trillions of taxpayer dollars for social programs, alienating allies by abandoning Afghanistan without forewarning, occasional lapses of memory and so on. But how about the inconsistency of curtailing oil and gas production in every way possible in the U.S. and then petitioning OPEC, which includes some of our enemies, to increase the supply of these products because voters are unhappy about the sizable increases in price?
Blaming Biden ridiculous: It seems logic is dead. I listen as people blame President Biden for the increase in prices of everything. People seem to forget that things don’t happen overnight. How quickly we forget the droughts, fires, bad weather, pandemic that we have been experiencing these past few years. How much easier it is to believe in fake news and spew conspiracy theories. We will never get the right people into politics with this kind of thinking.
Easy to become a teacher: With all of the emphasis on education and the need to go to college, a question remains. Why is the criteria to become a teacher so easy? Anyone can walk in an say I wish to be a teacher and begin taking courses that are very easy compared to other degrees.
Scare tactics win: A wake-up call for Democrats. In Virginia, the Democratic nominee for governor was beat by a Republican political newcomer. Democrat Terry McAuliffe spent his time downgrading Republican Glenn Youngkin, comparing him to Trump, while Youngkin scared the heck out of the Virginia voters with critical race theory. What Democrats need to learn is campaign on the issues that have meaning to voters, and be passionate about them.
Stealing begets stealing? I realize that, as a group, criminals are not exactly the sharpest tacks in the box. What I don’t understand is what they gain by carjacking. Do they carjack so they have transportation to go on to their next carjacking? That’s what it seems to be. They always leave a previously stolen car behind.
