Oswego-based School District 308 will be looking for bus drivers, substitute teachers and more as it holds open house interviews coming up to help fill positions in the district that have been open since the start of the school year.
The district has announced it has launched a streamlined process for hiring that involves open interviews from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, and Thursday, Nov. 11, at the District 308 Administration Center, 4175 Route 71 in Oswego. Applicants are directed to enter through Door 2 of the building.
Applicants should bring two forms of identification, contact information for references, details on past employment and education as well as a canceled check for possible payroll purposes, district officials said. Staff members will assist interested applicants throughout the process.
School District 308 has a wide variety of roles for people of all skill levels and experience, District 308 Director of Communications Theresa Komitas said.
“The district is still in great need of staff bus drivers, monitors, recess supervisors, teaching assistants, substitutes, custodians and many others,” Komitas said.
The full list of openings is available on the district website at https://www.sd308.org/
During the open interview process, individuals can apply for a position and talk with human resources specialists regarding licensing and requirements as well as meet with a member of the district or school administration for an interview and leave with a written contingent offer of employment, district officials said.

“We want everyone to know that school districts offer job opportunities across many disciplines,” Superintendent John Sparlin said in a district press release. “Schools can provide unique opportunities for parents to work the same schedule as their child’s school, with holidays and breaks off. Our benefits package is comprehensive and generous, but most importantly working in a school district brings fulfillment, knowing that you are contributing towards the educational success of young people.”
The district has openings for teaching assistants, substitutes, bus monitors and bus drivers, custodians, recess supervisors, nurses, bilingual and dual language teachers, deans, interpreters and special education teachers. The positions have a typical work week of 30 to 40 hours, district officials said.
